About the role

OVERVIEW

The Jr. Project Manager will report directly into the Sr. Project Manager, Enterprise Project Management Office and will be an active contributor to the planning, execution, and successful delivery of projects, gaining valuable experience in the Circular Economy while working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

This is 24-month contract position, requiring full-time hours, with occasional visits to the Toronto Corporate office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in project delivery; maintain structure; and follow adequate delivery process and prepare project dashboards for various meetings and committees under the direction of the Sr. Project Manager

  • Develop detailed project plans, considering both Agile and Hybrid Waterfall methodologies, to ensure successful project execution.

  • Assist in maintaining project documentation, including program risk registers, and project dashboards.

  • Monitor and track project tasks, milestones, and deliverables to ensure project timelines are met.

  • Foster effective communication with project team members and stakeholders, with the goal of ensuring that everyone is informed and aligned.

  • Identify potential project risks and work closely with the Sr. Project Managers to implement mitigation strategies.

  • Organize and participate in project meetings, documenting key discussions and action items and disseminating to all stakeholders.

  • Developing a weekly project status report (PSR) that follows the cadence and standards set forth by the Enterprise PMO.

  • Actively engage in learning opportunities and assigned mentorships within the EPMO to enhance project management skills and contribute to personal and professional growth.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • University Degree in Business, Information Technology, or related major. A combination of post secondary education and professional experiences may be considered. Project Management Certification (CSM or SA or PMP or CSPM) is preferred.

Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in a project management role, preferably in enterprise, technology driven initiatives and implementations.

  • Experience working in a complex, multi-project environment with several clients is critical to be successful in this role.

Knowledge**/Competencies/Skills**

  • Familiarity with project management tools such as JIRA, and Confluence is preferred.

  • Experience in technical environments/technical deployments. Awareness of all project activities within a technical delivery model.

  • Knowledge of Project Management, Agile Development, Waterfall Development, Change Management, Business Analysis methodologies.

  • Excellent analytical, conceptual thinking, planning, and execution skills.

  • Proactive, self-led stakeholder communications and outreach is a must.

  • Possess client management skills with a passion for building effective customer relationships and exceeding partner expectations.

  • Comfortable communicating at all levels of the organization including business executives and technical experts.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • All CM employees work 40 hours per week, remotely from a home office environment.

  • The job demands that the incumbent have a flexible work schedule with periods of uneven workload.

  • The incumbent must have a tolerance for change as Circular Materials implements its new program obligations.

  • Attend in-person meetings at the Circular Materials Toronto office is required, when requested based on EPMO schedules or job demands.
