Our client is an established and growing Toronto-based alternative mortgage lender.
About The Role The Finance Manager will serve as the financial backbone of a growing, multi-entity financial services organization. Reporting directly to the principals and working closely with a Fractional CFO, this role will own full financial operations extending beyond typical month end close. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Canadian Corporate Tax and research for Government Grants and Subsidies
- Month-end processes including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and consolidations
- Fund accounting and deferred revenue / complex revenue recognition
- KPI reporting, variance, revenue and margin analysis and commentary
- Portfolio yield reporting
- Manage a small team and oversee AP, AR and Payroll
- Cash flow forecasts, Budgeting and forecasting, Profitability analysis
- Manage bank positions and covenants and working capital management
- External, internal and operational audit assurance, preparation and risk management
- Automate processes and create efficiencies and cost savings in current processes
Requirements
- CPA designation (completed or in progress)
- 8+ years of progressive experience in financial services with a minimum of 4 years management or supervisory experience
- Proficiency with QuickBooks is preferred and solid Excel skills are essential
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional English communication skills and a customer centric attitude
- This role requires deep experience in high-volume, transaction-heavy financial services environments
