Location: Markham, Ontario
Job Description What is the role? We're hiring for a Help Desk Analyst Intern, contract till December 2025. Pet Valu is growing at an incredible rate, and we're in need of a dynamic, independent problem-solver to join our Help Desk team! We're a laid-back, tight-knit team that have a thirst for providing the best service possible to our great clients, and you'll be working with these awesome retail clients to solve their challenges over the phone or by email.
What will you do?
- Take calls from stores and Head Office users, trouble shooting, assisting or re-directing as necessary.
- Logging calls received in the database and maintain problem reports.
- Assist in POS procedure documentation.
- Update relevant information in the help-desk database.
- Follow up with relevant users for updates on problems passed on to them.
- Participate in maintenance of POS Test Scripts and Test Sets.
- Participate in testing of new releases of in-house developed software.
- Troubleshooting and maintenance of PCs and POS hardware equipment.
- Placing service calls with vendors and subsequent follow up to ensure satisfactory service.
What will you need to succeed? Education and Experience
- High School
- Currently pursuing College diploma or bachelor's degree in technology or business-related field
- Experience troubleshooting hardware and software along with junior network/ NOC experience is an asset
- Retail experience, preferably with a Point-of-Sale system (POS) is an asset
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong problem solving skills and aptitude is essential
- "Go-getter" attitude - along with total commitment to customer satisfaction
- Candidates must also have clear verbal, as well as concise written communication skills
- Experience with MS Office and a Windows 7/10 environment is desirable
- In addition to the foregoing, interested candidates must be computer literate and have general aptitude for learning new proprietary and commercial software programs
- Full training on our systems will be provided
