POSITION TITLE: Regional Administrative Assistant
CLASSIFICATION: MGO-01
SALARY RANGE: $25.00 Per Hour
POSITION TYPE: Part-time, Temporary (minimum 20 hours per week)
LOCATION: La Ronge, SK
ACCOUNTABLE TO: NR1 Regional Director
Brief Overview:
Under the leadership of the NR1 Regional Director, Métis Nation–Saskatchewan is seeking a dedicated and collaborative individual with a strong commitment to quality and customer service. The successful candidate will support regional objectives and deliver a broad range of administrative services as part of a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as first point of contact.
- Provide support to NR1 community programming & engagements.
- Establish and maintain a filing/record keeping system for the regional office.
- Establish and maintain communications infrastructure for the regional council.
- Ability to answer a wide range of questions and provide support in a courteous manner, providing detailed information.
- Filing and organizing reports/paperwork, maintaining the security and confidentiality of information and documents according to established policies and procedures.
- Ability to set and manage meetings – in person and virtually.
- Perform all day-to-day office operations functions.
- Assist vulnerable Métis citizens in overcoming the challenges of navigating multijurisdictional human systems. This includes but not limited to housing, addictions services, social services, personal identification, mental and physical health supports, cultural supports, food security, clothing, child and family services, transportation etc.
- Getting receipts and paperwork ready for yearly audits.
- Proposal writing.
- Developing and creation of advertisements, presentations, posters through Canva or Power Point applications. Attendance in training sessions for software such as quick-books and others as required.
- Assist Locals in cultural programming – following reporting guidelines.
- Distributing supplies or any related materials to citizens.
- Provide monthly reports to the Regional Office.
- Other duties assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience in an administrative role other similar level position.
- Grade 12 education with knowledge of technology including Adobe and Microsoft Office Programs (outlook, word, publisher, excel and PowerPoint).
Knowledge and skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to work remotely and in office.
- Ability to work as a team and independently.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of office management responsibilities, systems, and procedures.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of clerical practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of human resources management practices and procedures.
- Relationship management practices.
Additional requirements:
- Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
- Must be able to provide an acceptable Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check prior to the start of employment.
- This position will be required to work evening or weekend hours for attendance at meetings or community events as required.
