This is HR in action - the first point of contact, close to the issues, and essential to early workplace resolution. As an HR Advisor, you'll be the go-to partner for OPS leaders navigating complex HR issues and developing solutions and strategies. The HR Advisor is a true generalist who interprets policies, collective agreements and legislation, navigates sensitive labour relations issues, and provides clear, risk-informed and practical advice that supports strategic decision-making across a broad subject matter. If you're passionate about enabling effective people management strategies, shaping HR programs, leveraging data-driven insights, and being a trusted partner to OPS leaders, HR Advisory is where you belong.

PLEASE NOTE: This competition may also be used to fill positions at the Assistant Human Resources Advisor level within HR Advisory Services (I06). Candidates with appropriate human resources and consultation experience are encouraged to apply and may be considered for the level best aligned with their qualifications and experience.

About the job

HR Advisors work within a data-driven environment to guide managers and directors in the application of a consistent enterprise approach to HR issues and people management strategies. The work is fast-paced and HR Advisors are often faced with competing priorities. This position plays a critical role in providing strategic advice and options to help OPS leaders make informed decisions and mitigate risks, and is a key partner in promoting positive labour relations and supporting organizational transformation. We are looking for team members who demonstrate a high level of client service, authenticity, accountability, desire to learn and courage in how they interact with others, drive people-centered outcomes and promote an inclusive workplace environment. The ability to actively confront bias and systemic employment barriers, while understanding the importance of contributing to a more diverse, anti-racist, and accessible workplace is considered a strong asset to the work that we do.

You will use your expertise to provide strategic HR advice to clients on:
