This is a Senior Leadership role with responsibility for driving growth and operations of the Procurement and Supply Chain Advisory Practice in the Prairies (Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba). It is a part of the National service line, reporting into KPMG’s Western Canadian Supply Chain Leader.
This position is pivotal in shaping KPMG’s market position in Procurement & Supply Chain. It has a strong emphasis on business development, client relationship management, team development, and successful project delivery.
The ideal candidate brings existing experience leading or serving as a leader in a practice in Management Consulting, Advisory, or relevant professional service firms.
The role is based in Calgary.
What you will do:
Strategic Leadership & Business Development
- Shape existing Supply Chain and Procurement service offerings to match client and industry needs in the Prairies.
- Build new service offerings and capabilities over time.
- Identify market opportunities – drive growth through new client acquisition through existing or new relationships
- Lead business development efforts, including proposal creation, presentations to senior executives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing thought leadership on supply chain trends, digital transformation, and operational best practices.
- Represent the practice in industry forums, conferences, and client engagements, positioning the firm as a leader in supply chain innovation.
System Implementation & Transformation
- Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of supply chain technology solutions (e.g., eProcurement, WMS, IBP, advanced analytics platforms).
- Lead cross-functional teams in delivering complex system transformation projects, ensuring alignment with client business objectives and successful change management.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies and digital solutions to enhance supply chain performance and resilience.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee transformations impacting the end-to-end supply chain lifecycle, which can include source to pay, demand and supply planning, distribution & network optimization
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Champion workforce upskilling and reskilling initiatives to develop future-ready talent.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, technology partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Negotiate contracts and strategic partnerships to optimize value and mitigate risks.
What you bring to the role:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant field (Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration)
- 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement and supply chain consulting.
- Proven track record in business development and growing an advisory practice.
- Deep experience in at least one Procurement and Supply Chain System (e.g. IBP, eProcurement, WMS, Transportation)
- Deep experience in at least one Procurement and Supply Chain discipline (e.g. Planning, Source to Pay, Inventory Management, Network and Distribution)
- Demonstrated expertise in leading large-scale transformation projects end to end
- Interest in coaching, developing, and retaining high performing teams.
- Strong communication skills
- Deep understanding of global supply chain trends, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in the Calgary and Prairies market
- Willingness to travel within Canada and internationally as required.
