As an integral member of the Donor Experience and Stewardship Impact Team, the Manager, Stewardship Events will deliver best-in class stewardship, recognition and cultivation events, as well as curated experiences, for major, transformational and estate giving donors and prospects. These events recognize and engage donors and prospective donors, typically at the $1M+ giving level, and include but are not limited to annual awards, Centre openings, tours, Chair celebrations, space dedications, recognition society-specific events, annual lunches/dinners and virtual/livestream programming. The Manager, Stewardship Events will report directly to the Director, Stewardship Events.

We are seeking an event professional who is adept in donor experiences and events and will partner with a diverse team of 30+ stewardship, communications and fundraising professionals in achieving their ambitious goals as we plan a historic, comprehensive fundraising campaign for The Princess Margaret.

You Will:

  • Plan and execute a portfolio of stewardship, recognition and cultivation events at the major ($50k to $4.9M+) and transformational ($5M+) donor level
  • Lead all aspects of events from concept to execution including:
  • The development of compelling event concepts, themes and formats in collaboration with internal stakeholders including the senior leadership team, fundraisers and stewardship team
  • The coordination and management of event speakers, presenters and special guests
  • The development of supporting event materials including agendas, briefing notes, and workback schedules
  • Oversee the development and delivery of event collateral including external communications, invitations and presentations in collaboration with the Marketing and Creative Department
  • Work collaboratively with various Foundation teams to build strong relationships to ensure a successful outcome of all events
  • Build meaningful and effective relationships with venues, vendors and provide excellent customer service at all times
  • Manage venue and vendor partnerships including negotiating contracts to ensure favourable pricing
  • Work in collaboration with various stakeholders to manage event budgets which includes providing budgetary recommendations and identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Consult with and supports relationships within a broad spectrum of stakeholders including Foundation Senior Leadership and Cancer Centre Executive, when relevant to the event process
  • Record event activities in the relationship database as required
  • Participate in team discussions and provide input in team process, plan administration and program

Qualifications

  • Minimum of four (4) years of demonstrated experience in event planning and project management, supported by a post-secondary degree, certificate or diploma in Event Management, Fundraising, Project Management, or a related field
  • Understanding of and experience in the healthcare fundraising environment and experience on a comprehensive healthcare fundraising campaign is preferred but not a requirement
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, late evenings and occasional weekends due to the nature of events
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), project management tools (Asana)
