Territory Sales Representative – OEM Specialist
About the role
Work Set Up: Territory coverage across Ontario and Manitoba. Preference is for selected candidate to be able to work from the Mississauga office occasionally. Requires travel up to 70% of work time.
Our client in the Power Generation and Energy Solutions industry is looking for a Territory Sales Representative – OEM Specialist to join their team. This role presents a unique opportunity for a strategic sales professional to analyze, plan, and execute within a defined regional market. The position requires a results-driven individual with strong relationship management and technical sales capabilities. What you'll do:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with OEM industrial customers.
- Identify new business opportunities and drove sales growth within the OEM segment.
- Provide technical support and product recommendations tailored to OEM requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering and product managers to design customized power solutions.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and quotations.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals in alignment with company policies.
- Promote company products and formulate plans to convert opportunities into profitable sales.
- Support market intelligence efforts to understand industry trends and increase market share.
- Participate in planning, strategy, and team development for the assigned territory.
- Contribute to develop and maintain a strong customer satisfaction approach.
- Maintain accurate CRM records of contacts, accounts, sales, leads, and schedules.
- Recommend and implement actions for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated success in a similar role.
- Post-secondary diploma or certificate required.
- Knowledge of diesel engines, power transmission, and/or equipment industries preferred.
- Relevant dealer development experience with an appropriate product and market background considered an asset.
- Must have strong communication skills, etiquette, and the ability to assist the public cooperatively and courteously.
- Must be able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed.
- Must be able to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work well with others and demonstrate teamwork.
- Must have high communication and negotiation skills.
- Must be able to work independently and carry out assignments to completion with minimum instruction while adhering to established routines and practices.
- Must have excellent work ethic and demonstrate reliability and professionalism.
- Must be well structured with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must have a positive attitude, be self-starting, results-oriented, and proactive.
- Must demonstrate autonomy, problem-solving skills, and initiative.
- Ability to prospect with customers, generate sales leads, and maintain long-term business relationships.
- Must demonstrate competency with computers and be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, and ERP systems.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and passport.
