About the role
Education: College/CEGEP. Dairy husbandry and production. Work site environment: Goat farming. Dusty. Odours. Dairy. Tasks: Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens and other work areas. Coordinate planting and cultivating activities. Examine milking operations to ensure adherence to safety regulations or standards. Handling animals. Manage feed inventory activities . Milking goats. Monitoring animal health. Raise and breed livestock and poultry. Maintain farm machinery, equipment and buildings. Manage overall operation of farm. Purchase machinery, livestock, seed, feed and other supplies. Determine the amount and kinds of crops to be grown and livestock to be raised. Maintain financial and production records. Perform general farm duties. Recruit, hire and supervise staff and/or volunteers. Feed or assist in feeding. Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs. Vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases. Equipment and machinery experience: Milking system (automated). Tractor. Area of work experience: Field crops. Area of specialization: Animal husbandry. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Physically demanding. Personal suitability: Flexibility.
