Department Information
The Department of Infrastructure (INF) provides high quality services to the public and Government of the Northwest Territories’ (GNWT) departments, boards and agencies including the planning, design, construction, acquisition, operation and maintenance of public transportation infrastructure and the buildings, works and equipment required for the GNWT to deliver its programs and services. INF makes essential petroleum products available for sale to the public where these products are not provided by the private sector, and promotes the development and increased use of energy efficient technologies. INF also regulates electrical and mechanical safety services and licenses individuals and vehicles operating in the territory.

Join our team! The Yellowknife Driver and Vehicle Licensing office is looking for a Bilingual Client Service Officer to deliver high-quality client service for driver and vehicle licensing programs. This is a front-line role where you¿ll assist the public, verify documents, and ensure services are delivered accurately and securely.
Key Responsibilities:
¿ Issue driver¿s licences, ID cards, vehicle registrations, and abstracts.
¿ Review and validate documents for eligibility and compliance.
¿ Provide clear, professional service in both English and French.
¿ Handle payments, maintain secure inventory, and reconcile revenues.
Key Qualification and experience:
¿ High school diploma (Grade 12) + a minimum of 2 years customer service experience.
¿ Strong communication and client service skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations.
¿ Basic proficiency in French and English (oral and written).
¿ Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
¿ Must pass a criminal records check (position of trust).
