Richelieu Hardware is seeking to fill a permanent Specification Representative position for Montreal’s South Shore and part of the Island of Montreal.
The Specification Representative will be responsible for developing the Richelieu brand and securing specifications for our products. The role coordinates all aspects of the specification process
More specifically, the main responsibilities of the position are to:
- Develop strong relationships with architects and designers.
- Position the company and its products within architecture and design firms, resulting in specifications and sales.
- Provide product training and updates to the A&D community, primarily through product presentations.
- Maintain documentation, databases, and call reports using High Gear (call reporting tool).
- Respond to all specification requests.
- Manage specifications throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Track projects within the assigned territory.
- Communicate with inside sales staff and management to coordinate product sales.
- Promote the Richelieu brand across all facets of the design and specification channel.
- Foster a high‑performance culture by setting clear expectations and individual goals, focusing on key success factors, and communicating these expectations to the team responsible for closing specifications and driving sales
Requirements :
- University degree in a related field or equivalent hands‑on experience.
- At least 1 to 2 years of experience in a specification‑focused role.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional yet pragmatic attitude.
- Ability to easily translate strategy into action.
- Results‑driven and action‑oriented.
- Committed to achieving company objectives and embracing Richelieu’s culture.
- Team‑oriented, able to work effectively with employees at all levels.
- Sound judgment and the ability to remain calm in a fast‑growing environment where demands can shift quickly.
