Why is this role important? We're looking for a senior manager of Enterprise Architecture, OTT platform (Over-The-Top). This role will lead the architectural practice, and align technology solutions with digital product strategies and overall business goals. You’ll be at the heart of innovation—working hand-in-hand with product leaders, delivery leads and technical leaders. Your mission: guide and inspire teams to implement smart, scalable, and future-ready solutions—anchored in strong architectural principles and best practices. How you will make an impact: (key responsibilities) You are an experienced technical manager looking to apply and build your skills in:

  • Partnering with a number of stakeholders across CBC and Radio Canada, including product managers and directors, technical leadership community, designers, explore architectural and technology needs, using architectural solutions to help define reasonable scope.
  • Handling and driving key technical decisions. Effectively working across development teams, technical leaders, business stakeholders within the department and across departments. Leading and facilitating collaborative analysis, solutioning, review and technical decisions.
  • Observe technical leadership gaps, and grow domain expertise.
  • Lead the design of enterprise-wide software architecture that considers functional integrity, scalability, resilience, stability, security and operational excellence while balancing time to market, business needs with long-term growth and health of the digital ecosystem.
  • Bring industry trends to the department, future proofing OTT technology. You educate and advise, bringing teams closer alignment with industry best practices.
  • Able to advise on technology investments in the immediate and long term.
  • Build architecture practice that contributes and enhances the discovery process, allowing clarity on deliverables, team dependencies and skills development.
  • Establish and maintain architectural standards including data governance, security and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage architects and maintain a high performance culture, where people are passionate about the work they do.

What you bring to our team: (deal breakers for this role)

  • Three or more years of experience in a technical management position, including architect roles. You had experience managing a team with specific missions of more than 5 employees.
  • You are a technical leader, first and foremost. You demonstrate broad knowledge on a variety of architectural / technical domains: data integration and distribution, audience account features including personalization, analytics. Domain knowledge on web, mobile technologies and connected tv is a must. Special consideration given to candidates with previous experience in video and/or audio delivery.
  • You are experienced in maturing practices. You’ll navigate evolving priorities and sometimes fluid direction, with the opportunity to shape outcomes.
  • You are knowledgeable in engineering practices: for instance, test strategy, test management and tooling, automation platforms, monitoring platforms, observability strategy. CI/CD devOps.
  • You have experience leading projects and programs, as well as allocating the right people, or applying the right process to solve problems. You can perform under ambiguity, bringing clarity through discovery, and be able to provide effective solutions..
  • People Leadership – Lead and coach a team to achieve business objectives. Direct, motivate, and develop your team, maximizing their impact and professional growth. Build a high performance culture, grounded by diversity and inclusion.
  • A problem solver and good communicator who takes ownership of the work they do, see problems as opportunities, and share new ideas. A dynamic individual who loves to learn and connect with others.
  • Possess a degree in engineering (applied science), computer science, science or related discipline, delivered by a recognized university.
  • Please note that due to the nature of the mandates and responsibilities of this role, all candidates will be required to work in a multilingual environment, where business will be conducted in both official languages (English and French). Therefore, employees working in this role will be expected to make the required efforts and adjustments to navigate this multilingual environment in a respectful manner for all. English speakers are required to learn French and achieve adequate proficiency, and vice versa.

Assets (‘nice to haves’ for this role)

  • Master in engineering (applied science) and related discipline is highly desirable.
  • French: advanced skills in reading and speaking, intermediate in writing.
  • Experience in AI / ML / LLM.
  • Experience in the media industry.
