**Tosca/Qtest Test Automation Consultant (12 month contract)
Location: Remote, BC
Staffing Placement Opportunity** General Description The IT Test Automation Developer and Performance Tester Level 2 plans and develops automated tests that improve the overall quality of the testing process and efficiencies; plans and executes performance testing activities for various business applications to validate responsiveness, availability, and scalability of systems and services in meeting expected performance requirements.
Experience And Role Accountabilities
- A minimum of six (6) years of automation script development and performance testing work experience, or equivalent.
- Plan, identify, implement, demonstrate, and review test automation scripts by working closely with functional test teams to define and understand test cases, test data, issues, and possible solutions to be automated, ensuring the successful completion of automation activities.
- Collaborate with professionals such as business analysts, architects, and developers to review requirements, software changes, and non-functional requirements to develop and execute performance test activities, identify issues, and close gaps in performance requirements to ensure optimal system performance.
- Develop automated scripts by following organizational coding standards in various test environments to continuously improve testing efficiency, while ensuring easy retrieval, safeguarding, and proper version control of automation test scripts using data management systems.
- Identify, analyze, and document defects and inconsistencies in software applications by consulting with developers and business analysts to support defect management activities.
- Optimize the combined use of digital tools such as vendor monitoring tools, proprietary scripting tools, and commercial or open-source platforms to analyze potential bottlenecks, report performance issues, and make recommendations for tuning.
- Enhance and extend the automation library and framework on projects by identifying opportunities to automate, reviewing, recommending, and writing automation scripts to continuously develop the organization’s future testing capability.
Education And Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline.

Excellent working knowledge of software development processes and testing methodologies/tools.

Strong working knowledge of network analysis for identifying I/O bottlenecks.

- Experience developing automated REST and SOAP API tests.
- Proficiency with source control and CI/CD tools such as Git and Jenkins.
- Hands-on experience with automation testing tools such as HP UFT.
- Create comprehensive test plans that define approach, coverage, and serve as communication tools between testers and stakeholders.
- Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) based on non-functional requirements, production issues, and bottlenecks; design test environments and execute performance tests under various conditions.
- Clearly document, analyze, and report defects with reproduction steps and impacts; support troubleshooting with developers and business analysts.
Additional Education And Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (Software Engineering preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of automated test tools (HP UFT, etc.).

- Strong reporting and analysis skills using MS Word/Excel.
- Self-motivated, able to multitask, adapt quickly, and keep up with emerging testing and automation trends.
Work Assignment Requirements Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and stabilize existing Tosca test cases, addressing failures and improving execution reliability.
- Design and automate new test scenarios across SAP S/4HANA modules.
- Collaborate with functional SMEs to validate business processes and test coverage.
- Configure and utilize Tosca Distributed Execution (DEX) for hands-free regression runs.
- Integrate Tosca with Test Data Service (TDS) and other Tricentis tools for data-driven testing.
- Troubleshoot automation challenges in SAP GUI, Fiori, and related interfaces.
- Partner with IT and SAP teams to resolve environment and test data issues.
- Contribute to QA documentation, internal standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of automation experience with Tricentis Tosca.
- Experience in SAP S/4HANA testing projects (implementations or major upgrades).
- Strong understanding of SAP testing (SAP GUI, Fiori, integrations).
- Proficiency in Tosca DEX setup/execution, Tosca Commander, and TDS.
- Tricentis Tosca Automation Specialist Level 1 & 2 (mandatory).
- Test Data Specialist 1 & 2 training (mandatory).
- Preferred: Certification in Tosca Automation Engineering Level 1 & 2.
- Experience with qTest or similar test management tools.
- Familiarity with dynamic/upstream data setup in test scenarios.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to work in fast-paced, agile environments.
- Understanding of DevOps (nice to have).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience automating SAP C4C or SuccessFactors applications.
- Exposure to Agile delivery and sprint-based QA planning.
- Understanding of test traceability, regression strategies, and defect lifecycle management.
- Degree/diploma in IT or Computer Engineering (not mandatory).
