The Opportunity

Design Works Engineering is seeking a highly motivated Senior Electrical Technologist to join our Toronto office. This role will play a key part in supporting the continued growth and success of our electrical team. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

We are looking for candidates with 8+ years of consulting experience, strong expertise in building design, and the confidence to make meaningful contributions to a growing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather client and project requirements and develop electrical designs in accordance with industry best practices, applicable codes, and standards

• Prepare 2D drawings using AutoCAD

• Develop 3D Building Information Models (BIM) in Revit and produce corresponding 2D drawings

• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, structural, mechanical, civil, and other project disciplines under project direction

• Conduct site visits to collect project data and verify existing conditions

• Attend construction sites to support project execution and review progress

• Perform additional duties as assigned by the project team

Education & Experience

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution

• Minimum of 8 years of design experience within a consulting engineering environment

• Experience designing multi-family residential, commercial, and industrial buildings

• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD is required

• Strong command of English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proven ability to manage time effectively and thrive in a fast-paced environment

• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills, capable of prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across various locations
