Job Description

The community of Canso is seeking a full scope family physician to join their family practice network team in the seaside village of Canso, NS. The local community hospital, Eastern Memorial Hospital, serves the population in the eastern portion of Guysborough County. It has 6 inpatient beds, attached Long-Term Care, and daytime Emergency Dept. There is Virtual ED support for nighttime and weekends. The nearest regional hospital, St. Martha's Regional Hospital, is approximately 90 minutes from Canso. The family practice office is staffed and managed by NSH. Responsibilities

Delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness Work with other providers in the clinic to provide cross coverage and same day access Participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities Utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members.

Providing inpatient care

Providing urgent treatment in the Level 4 ED* (if part of scope of practice) Expected Hours Negotiable - P/T or F/T hours available.

Remuneration

Remuneration type is either Longitudinal Family Medicine payment model or a Fee for Service payment model.
