Family Service Coordinator
About the role
The Family Service Coordinator (FSC) is the primary point of contact for families entering the McMaster Children’s Hospital - Autism Program. Working closely with internal and external care providers, the FSC’s primary responsibilities include service selection, coordination, and assistance to families.
- Community College diploma and/or Bachelor's Degree in a field related to child studies/ social services
- Demonstrated knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder
- 3-5 years experience working with children/youth with special needs, preferably with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of community services and resources and knowledge of referral process required for accessing resources
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal team work, leadership and communication skills
- Proven ability for initiative, problem-solving, organization and prioritization within a fast-paced and changing environment
- Participate in a criminal reference screening process
- Must be able to obtain a valid Vulnerable Sector Screen (VSS)
- Fluency in French would be an asset
