We are now on a determined path to growth, leading to great opportunities for personal and career growth. We are looking for an experienced and self-driven Receiver/Material Handler.
The Receiver/Material Handler will accept and record the movement of parts and supplies. The Receiver/Material Handler will offload incoming goods into the warehouse, ensure paperwork corresponds with received goods and move the goods into racking locations.
Duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for the unloading of all inbound goods, by either pump truck or forklift
- Will ensure that pallets and products are properly labelled – description, part number, quantity
- Responsible for the movement, documentation, and input into the ERP of product movement from the Inspection area to the rack location
- Provides products to the Production area for value-added work
- Assists in the consolidation of the warehouse racking
- Responsible for bringing down products from the racking for the Picker and Packer team
- Responsible for the daily maintenance of the Counterbalance and Narrow Aisle Reach trucks – daily inspections and preoperational inspections
- Create a daily receiving report
- Maintain good housekeeping duties of the warehouse throughout the day and at the end of the shift
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures
- Adheres to all health and safety regulations and related company policies
- Cross-trained to perform other functions, such as light assembly and other material management tasks when no picker and packer duties are required
- Perform all other assigned duties by the Warehouse Supervisor
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification
- Licensed Lift Truck driver, on Counterbalance and Narrow Aisle Reach, is a must
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role
- Basic computer skills and previous experience in using an ERP system will be an asset
- Excellent physical fitness with the ability to lift a maximum of 30 pounds
- Proficient in using hand tools
- Experience in the furniture industry is an asset
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a good command of English in reading and comprehending written and verbal instructions
- Team player with the ability to work well with others
- Reliable with a good attendance record and focus on punctuality
Working conditions
- Must be comfortable working in a diverse environment
- Could be exposed to varied internal temperatures within the Plant due to external weather conditions
- Fast-paced environment
- Shift - Monday to Friday; 7:30 am to 4 pm
Physical requirements
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Long periods of standing, sitting, and walking
