Job Details:
Position Title: Field Placement Advisor
Status: Temporary Part-Time Contract – 6 months
Hours: 24 hours per week
Faculty/Department: Faculty of Social & Community Services
Campus/Location: Lakeshore Campus
Salary: Min. $30.62 – Max. $35.50
What you will do:
Reporting to the Manager, Work Integrated Learning, the Field Placement Advisor is a proactive team member in the Faculty of Social and Community Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for connecting with available field experience opportunities for students, liaising with host supervisors, seminar instructors/ faculty advisors and students, and managing a database of field experience related information. The Field Placement Advisor is also responsible for a host of administrative functions relating to Work-Integrated Learning. The Field Placement Advisor will uphold the FSCS values of compassion, integrity, respect, self-awareness, and inclusion in all interactions with students, external and internal stakeholders.
What you bring to the role:
Education:
The successful candidate will hold a 4-year bachelor’s degree.
Experience/Skills:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of two (2) years of related work experience.
Exceptional administrative, interpersonal, communication and organization skills as well as the ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision are essential. Other qualifications include demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, exercise good judgement, work with significant interruptions, and effectively resolve conflicts.
Preference will go to applicants with a background in Human Service fields such as Social Service, Community Development, Addictions and Mental Health, Behavioural Science, Community Justice as well as job development experience.
