Position Summary
Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is seeking a highly professional and organized Administrative Assistant to support the Division Head of Spine Surgery. This role provides administrative coordination across clinical, academic, and leadership activities within a busy tertiary care academic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Primary point of contact for patients in surgical practice
- Provide day-to-day administrative support for clinical practice (schedule patients, organize clinics, collect correspondence, triage referral, communicate with referring offices, attend to medical billing).
- Coordinate scheduling, correspondence, meetings, and divisional academic activities.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain clinical and administrative documents.
- Support use of electronic medical records and medical billing workflows.
- Assist with divisional operations while handling sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Qualifications / Attributes

Post-secondary degree or diploma required.

Previous experience as a medical administrative assistant required.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Familiarity with electronic medical record utilization.

Experience with medical billing software.

Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy, initiative, and professionalism.
Work Setting
This position supports a dynamic academic spine surgery practice within Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, Ontario.
