Summer Associate- 2L/3L (General Practice)
About the role
Position Overview
The Firm is seeking a Summer Associate (General Practice) to support litigation, regulatory advisory, legislative research, and strategic client matters. This role provides exposure to cutting-edge AI legal issues, complex legal analysis, and client-facing advisory work.
The Summer Associate will work directly with the Firm’s Managing Attorney and will be expected to produce high-quality research and written work under tight deadlines.
Core Responsibilities
Legal Research and Memoranda Conduct legal research across federal and state jurisdictions. Draft research memoranda on regulatory, constitutional, administrative, and statutory issues. Analyze emerging AI-related case law and legislation. Litigation Support Assist in drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and supporting materials. Support case strategy development through legal research and fact analysis. Cite-check and Bluebook filings and memoranda. Regulatory and Legislative Monitoring Track developments in AI-related legislation and agency guidance. Prepare summaries and alerts for client advisory purposes. Assist with drafting comment letters and policy submissions where applicable. Client Advisory and Strategy Support Support preparation of compliance frameworks and advisory materials. Assist in drafting client-facing guidance on regulatory and governance issues. Prepare briefing materials for meetings with clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Current J.D. candidate (1L or 2L preferred). Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Demonstrated interest in technology law, administrative law, constitutional law, litigation, or public policy. Ability to work independently with high attention to detail.
Preferred Experience
Law review or journal experience. Prior experience in litigation, government, or legislative roles. Interest in artificial intelligence regulation and governance.
Employment Details
Timing: Summer 2026 (flexible start and end dates). Location: New York City preferred; hybrid or remote arrangements considered. Compensation: Competitive; commensurate with experience and hours.
