SALARY RANGE: Starting at $67,626.00 Per Annum

POSITION TYPE: Full-time, Permanent

LOCATION: Saskatoon

ACCOUNTABLE TO: ELCC Childcare Manager

Brief Overview: This position involves overseeing a newly licensed 90-space early learning center (infants to preschool) with a Métis-specific curriculum. Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential. Knowledge of Métis culture and experience working with Métis communities is an asset. This is a key role with the opportunity to shape the future of the center and positively impact the community.

The Center Supervisor will oversee all operations of the Early Learning Center, including staff management, programming, and ensuring a safe, enriching environment for children. This role involves collaboration with MN–S Early Learning and Childcare and requires experience in Early Childhood Education, childcare licensing, and familiarity with relevant ministry policies and documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of daily operations, including budgeting, scheduling, and enrollment.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative work environment and address staff-related matters in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure daily implementation of the Métis Curriculum, incorporating play-based and exploratory learning.
  • Collaborate closely with the MN–S Childcare Coordinator to prepare and present regular updates and reports to the Board of Directors.
  • Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with families, ensuring open and effective communication.
  • Work collaboratively with MN–S staff, Citizens, and contractors to support center operations and community goals.
  • Represent the MN–S Early Learning Centre at community events and activities.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate staff and programming to ensure high standards of care and education.
  • Ensure full compliance with all policies, procedures, and provincial childcare regulations.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to parental concerns and complaints.
  • Manage child enrollment processes, ensuring completion and accuracy of all required documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for the facility and its programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ensure the provision of quality childcare services that fulfill the philosophy of MNS.
  • Provide a safe and stimulating environment where children can develop to their potential: physically, emotionally, intellectually, socially and creatively.
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles, child development and children with diverse needs.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
  • Well-developed administrative, analytical, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of Occupational Health & Safety, Workers Compensation Board, and Public Health.
  • Ability to use computer programming such as Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and social media platforms.

Qualifications:

  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Level 3 required.
  • Experience supervising 10-15+ employees, trainees and volunteers
  • Knowledge of Metis Culture and experience working with Metis people would be an asset.
  • CPR-C and First Aid
  • Food Safe is an asset

Additional requirements:

  • A valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and/or access to reliable transportation to our downtown location would be required.
  • The successful candidate must undergo a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector.
  • The Travel requirement for this position is 15%
