Shipper/Receiver  

Weldco-Beales Manufacturing designs and manufactures specialized heavy equipment attachments for the construction, forestry, mining, scrap recycling, road maintenance and resource industries throughout Canada, the USA and internationally. Weldco prides itself on providing a great employee experience where safety is a way of life. Weldco-Beales is currently recruiting a Shipper/Receiver for the Langley manufacturing team. This position will report to the General Foreman.

What you will do:

Shipping:

  • Determines the least expensive and quickest method of shipment, arranges delivery, and prepares shipping documents 
  • Prepares goods to be shipped
  • Directs delivery trucks to shipping doors or designated marshalling areas, and helps load and unload goods safely
  • Retrieves stored items and traces lost shipments as needed
  • Operates forklifts, hand trucks or other materials-handling equipment
  • Calls customers or company driver to co-ordinate pick-up and delivery

Receiving:

  • Inspects and counts items received, checks them against invoices or other documents, record shortages and fills out forms for damaged and returned damaged goods and routes them correctly
  • Unpacks and stores goods in the appropriate storage areas
  • Keeps accurate records of items received and where they are stored
  • Contacts vendors to resolve problems or contacts service depots to arrange for repair

Your qualifications:

  • 1+ years of related experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Crane & Rigging experience or certification an asset
  • Current Forklift license

  • Excellent safety record

 Due to safety considerations and the physically demanding nature of the role, successful candidates will undergo a pre-employment medical evaluation upon hiring. Passing the Level 1 fitness test on your first attempt is a bona fide occupational requirement (BFOR).
