About the role

Summary

Diagram is launching an AI-powered third party administrator (TPA) to reduce costs and improve customer satisfaction for the property and casualty (P&C) insurance industry. We are looking for an entrepreneurial and highly motivated Co-Founder & CTO to shape the vision, build a star-studded team, and scale the business.

Please note: This is not an employee opportunity at Diagram, but in a new company created through our venture studio model. This company will be independent of Diagram, and the founding team will receive the majority of the equity in the venture .

The Opportunity

The insurance industry is at an inflection point. Carriers are grappling with historically high costs, rising adjuster turnover, and significant tech debt. It’s estimated that $170 billion in premiums are at risk over the next five years due to inefficient claims processes, and carriers are urgently searching for ways to reduce cycle time while mitigating claim leakage.

That’s why Diagram is launching a claims automation platform to intelligently streamline the millions of low-risk, high-frequency P&C claims filed each year and deliver actionable insights to carriers, MGAs, and self insured organizations.

Who we are looking for

We’re assembling a world-class team and seeking a seasoned Chief Technology Officer to lead and deliver on our product vision. As CTO, you will:

  • Define and execute the company’s product and technology strategy
  • Lead platform development with a focus on usability, scalability, and performance
  • Build and grow a high-impact engineering team
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and trends to sharpen our product edge and elevate user experience
  • Collaborate closely with the CEO, investors, and key stakeholders to translate business goals into tech strategy and competitive advantage

Background & Experience

  • Proven success leading high-performing engineering teams. Strong track record in hiring top talent and scaling organizations
  • Demonstrated experience translating user feedback into intuitive, resilient, high-performance products with exceptional UX
  • Hands-on experience developing and scaling generative AI products to streamline manual operations
  • Skilled at explaining complex technical ideas to diverse audiences, including investors and board members
  • Deep understanding of identifying and mitigating risks, including performance and security issues. Familiar with secure coding and cloud compliance
  • Experience in property & casualty (ideally auto) claims technology, including: platform development, claims automation, analytics, and systems integration

Other Desirable Assets

  • Experience in the P&C claims management industry
  • Experience developing generative AI solutions to streamline highly manual processes
  • Experience being founder/co-founder or early hire in a venture backed insurtech startup

What You’ll Get From This Opportunity

  • Significant equity participation in the venture
  • You will have flexibility to run a venture-backed business that has been significantly de-risked by an experienced venture studio with successful track record
  • You will receive continuous support from Diagram’s team of serial entrepreneurs and network
