Job Description

This role is based in our 20 Eglinton Ave W, Toronto office

Reporting to the Associate Director of Marketing, the Marketing Manager will lead the translation of brand strategies into brand plans and go-to-market strategies. The Marketing Manager will constantly be bringing new ideas, planning and supporting the execution of initiatives that leverage our portfolio of shows across North America while leading a team of seven Marketing Coordinators. This seasoned professional has extensive experience overseeing strategic, efficient, and breakthrough marketing campaigns tailored to driving ticket sales with an emphasis on social and digital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic marketing plans for all FAN EXPO shows to generate exposure, increase engagement, drive ticket sales, and grow audiences, optimizing all available platforms.

  • Identify, negotiate and manage partnership opportunities spanning brand partners, influencers, and community partners.

  • Co-develop and implement communications calendar for social, web and eblasts in collaboration with the marketing coordinators and digital marketing team.

  • Provide a single point of contact for simplifying and unifying communications from the marketing organization to the operations organization at key milestones.

  • Lead, coach, and inspire a team of marketing coordinators across multiple markets to deliver consistent, high-impact campaigns that celebrate fandom.

  • Champion the fan experience across all marketing touchpoints, ensuring campaigns build excitement, community, and emotional connection before, during, and after each show.

  • Identify audience segments and develop targeted strategies to attract new fans while deepening engagement with existing communities.

  • Leverage insights, trends, and fan feedback to evolve marketing strategy and improve conversion across channels.

  • Guide the creative process to ensure campaigns reflect the voice, tone, and personality of the FAN EXPO brand while pushing creative boundaries that surprise and delight fans.

  • Establish clear systems and processes for campaign planning, creative approvals, and performance reporting to streamline collaboration across departments.

  • Measure and report on the performance of our marketing campaign efforts, and assess against our goals (ROI and KPIs).

  • Translate industry, market, and audience insights into actionable marketing strategies.

  • Ensure that marketing goals, audience insights, industry landscape, and best practices are informing all campaign components.

  • Execute on all creative deliverables with a hyper focus on accuracy, timeliness and process efficiency.

  • Refine creative concepts and media strategy to ensure plans align back to business and target audience.

  • Liaise across internal FAN EXPO teams to ensure marketing needs and timelines are being met.

  • Manage external vendors such as printers and media agencies.

Qualifications

Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing in-house or at an ad agency within entertainment or media. Experience in event marketing and/or ticket sales marketing is a huge plus.
  • Experience managing and developing direct reports.
  • Experience in overseeing comprehensive, multi-platform marketing campaigns, specifically as it relates to a consumer’s buying journey, with a priority on ticket sales conversion.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience setting KPIs, analyzing performance, and optimizing ROI.
  • Solid understanding of all social media platforms and associated content management and analytics tools.
  • Comfortable leading cross-company efforts.
  • Superior interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and possess a hand-on attitude.
