About The Role

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our Data Cognition Team at BMO Capital Markets. This pivotal role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and secure DevOps pipelines and infrastructure to support AI and data-driven applications across Investment Banking and Global Markets. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in enabling automated deployment environments, ensuring system reliability, and optimizing cloud and containerized environments. You will work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders to streamline operations, enhance security protocols, and implement best practices in infrastructure management. Your expertise will directly contribute to advancing BMO's capabilities in AI and machine learning, facilitating innovative solutions that drive strategic business outcomes.

Qualifications

University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field. Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (k8s), ArgoCD, and deployment of services like Kafka, Druid, and OpenTelemetry. Proficiency in programming languages including Python, Go, and Bash. Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Helm, and Kustomize. Knowledge of cloud security frameworks and tools, including CSPM, DSPM, and ASPM. Experience with containerized environments and OCI image building. Familiarity with DevOps tools such as GitHub, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, and Kibana. Strong understanding of security protocols including Kerberos, TLS, and OAuth2. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with technical teams and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain end-to-end DevOps pipelines for AI and data applications, ensuring high reliability and scalability. Enhance and optimize build infrastructure for in-house data and analytics applications. Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices for platform components and automate deployment processes. Maintain and upgrade server infrastructure, including multiple clusters, to ensure optimal performance. Improve monitoring facilities across diverse applications and troubleshoot infrastructure issues promptly. Integrate enterprise technologies for seamless application release and system integration. Stay current with emerging DevOps, AI/ML, and cloud technologies to drive continuous improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security best practices and ensure compliance. Automate routine tasks to increase operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
