About the opportunity
Dalhousie University and Nova Scotia Health (NSH) are seeking a qualified full-time ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in glaucoma to practice in a challenging and rewarding academic medical environment. The successful candidate will be granted a continuing appointment with the Faculty of Medicine, Dalhousie University. The candidate will join the hospital-based group of sub-specialized ophthalmologists located at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, VG Site. The candidate will be expected to participate in teaching, research, and other academic and/or administrative duties as member of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Candidates for this position must have an MD and have completed a residency in ophthalmology and a minimum of 12 months post-residency fellowship training in glaucoma, including active exposure and participation in clinical research. The successful candidate will possess excellent clinical and surgical skills and demonstrate an ongoing interest in clinical and/or basic science research and teaching. Candidates should be certified or eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and be eligible for a license in the province of Nova Scotia and for attending privileges at NSH.
