The Sr Advisor Corporate Accounting is responsible for managing complex accounting transactions, maintaining the general ledger, and supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. It ensures compliance with internal policies, regulatory standards, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The position also collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues, supports audit activities, and contributes to the development and maintenance of accounting procedures and controls.
This individual will also be responsible for assisting the Supervisor with coordination and supervision of monthly accounting and reporting activities for Enbridge Inc. and its subsidiaries related to several areas of work within Corporate Accounting.

What You Will Do:
- Independently drive month-end activities, ensuring completion of specific accountabilities and deliverables associated with each day.
- Review and approve monthly journal entries to record general ledger (G/L) transactions in a timely manner.
- Review and approve assigned monthly G/L account reconciliations.
- Analyze and coordinate monthly variance analysis of corporate results, with explanations of large month-over-month or quarter-over-quarter variances for financial reporting and/or external auditor.
- Represent the Corporate Finance team as the Corporate Lease Champion and provide support on the corporate lease accounting tasks.
- Indirectly supervise other corporate GL staff providing senior technical expertise on accounting and complex transactions of lower risk; provide leadership, workload management, mentoring, coaching and training as required.
- Manage various Corporate Accounting continuous improvement projects to advance both the efficiency and accuracy of our processes.
- Respond to ad hoc queries and analysis requirements in support of the financial reporting processes.
Who You Are:
Required:
- Accounting designation with university degree and 6+ years of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities and familiarity with AI technologies would be considered an asset
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail with an ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
- Proven oral and written communication skills both to technical and non-technical stakeholders, as well as interpersonal skills in dealing with and obtaining cooperation from others
- Willing to work under pressure and some overtime to meet tight deadlines
Preferred:
- Familiarity with Oracle, Hyperion Smartview / Essbase would be an asset.
- Experience in preparing financial statements and related note disclosures
Working Conditions:
- Office Environment
- Must work to strict deadlines for key financial period end closings (monthly, quarterly, annually)
- Occasional travel might be required for meetings

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
