Your Team:

Join Flair Vacations, where technology, systems, and process improvements support the delivery of exceptional vacation experiences and business growth. Reporting to the Director, Commercial Operations, the Business Systems Specialist is responsible for supporting the development and continuous improvement of business systems, tools, and processes that enhance operational efficiency across the organization. This role works closely with business teams, technology partners, and vendors to ensure system solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned with business needs.

The Business Systems Specialist supports enhancements across commercial operations, customer experience, and digital platforms, with a focus on improving system performance, streamlining business processes, and enabling efficient day-to-day operations. Working collaboratively across the business, the role translates operational requirements into effective system and process solutions that support the continued growth of Flair Vacations.

A Day in the Life:

  • Lead structured requirements gathering through interviews, workshops, process walkthroughs, and data analysis with subject matter experts and end users.
  • Document business, functional, non-functional, and regulatory requirements using standardized tools and templates.
  • Ensure end-to-end traceability of requirements from intake through design, build, testing, and deployment.
  • Identify dependencies, constraints, risks, and assumptions early in the delivery lifecycle.
  • Support the development of business cases, problem statements, and solution recommendations.
  • Act as a key liaison between business stakeholders, Project Managers, technical teams, and third-party vendors throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Facilitate alignment between business teams, operational stakeholders, and technical delivery partners to support effective solution design and implementation.
  • Support backlog refinement, use case development, and acceptance criteria definition in agile or hybrid delivery environments.
  • Participate in system, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT), including validating test scenarios and supporting defect resolution.
  • Ensure delivered solutions align with approved requirements, business objectives, and operational needs.
  • Monitor and support business systems to ensure they remain functional, effective, and optimized.
  • Contribute to initiatives across the end-to-end travel lifecycle, including booking, modifications, cancellations, re-accommodation, ancillary services, and customer communications.
  • Ensure vendor-delivered solutions meet Flair Vacations’ requirements, standards, and expectations.
  • Work closely with external technology providers, system integrators, and SaaS vendors that support travel and reservation systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Role:

The preferred candidate should exemplify Flair's core values: honesty, efficiency, accountability, and respect, while demonstrating success in previous roles. Additionally, we are seeking individuals who possess:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Specialist, or in a similar role supporting business systems, operations, or technology functions.
    • Demonstrated experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting requirements for complex, cross-functional initiatives.
    • Experience working with technical teams and external vendors to support the delivery of system enhancements and process improvements.
    • Experience in the travel, tour operations, airline, or cruise industries is preferred.
    • Familiarity with travel industry systems, including TTS / SoftVoyage and inventory management platforms, is required.
    • Experience working with booking, inventory, pricing, scheduling, ticketing, or passenger service platforms is required.
    • Experience supporting reservation, distribution, and fulfillment systems within real-time, high-availability environments is preferred.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies, tools, and best practices.
    • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into practical system solutions.
    • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across technical and operational teams.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and support delivery across a range of initiatives and system enhancements.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work effectively in an environment with changing priorities and time-sensitive requirements.

Flair Airlines is Canada's leading low-fare airline and its greenest airline. With an expanding fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft, Flair is growing to serve over 35 cities across North America. Our airline is built for all people, inclusive and friendly, with the critically important mission of providing affordable air travel for all.

Flair is a different kind of airline. For too long, Canadians have been paying too much for too little. It's time to change the way Canadians fly. Our goal is to change the airline industry for the better. We're on a mission to make travel more accessible, more affordable, and more desirable. At Flair, it's not just about the journey. It's about the destination (yes, the dot!) and the experiences that we facilitate for passengers.
