About the role

The Villa de l’Estrie Residence, which accommodates independent seniors, is seeking a Maintenance Manager to ensure the proper functioning and safety of its facilities.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Maintenance Manager – Villa de l’Estrie Residence
Full-time daytime position – Occasional availability on weekends for emergencies.
$500 signing bonus offered

Under the supervision of management, the Maintenance Manager coordinates all preventive and corrective maintenance activities for the residence. He/she supervises the housekeeping and heavy maintenance team, handles repair requests, equipment requisitions, and emergency response.

The position also includes various manual tasks related to building maintenance, such as:

  • Painting and plastering

  • Terracotta tile installation

  • Small carpentry work

  • Replacing light fixtures and faucets

  • Other minor installations necessary for the safety and comfort of residents

We are looking for a reliable, versatile individual with good organizational skills and a constant focus on the quality of service provided to residents.

ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • At all times, ensure compliance with WHMIS standards as well as health and safety rules for employees and residents
  • Carry out any other tasks related to his/her duties and at the request of his/her immediate superior.
  • Ensure vacant apartments are clean and in excellent condition before the next rentals
  • Integrate, train and evaluate your staff
  • Maintain the residence's air conditioning, ventilation and heating equipment
  • Manage requisitions and respond to emergencies
  • Mobilize, manage and coordinate the work of the residence's maintenance and upkeep team
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual budget and take charge of monitoring expenses
  • Plan, organize and control maintenance work including subcontracted work
  • Prepare preliminary bids for maintenance and repair projects to be given externally
  • Provide efficient customer service that meets their needs
  • Take inventory of products and materials and place necessary orders in a timely manner

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A DEP in general builing maintenance (as asset)
  • Experience in personnel management
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical and minor repairs
  • Ease in the use of computer tools
  • CPR training
  • In-depth knowledge of the components of a residence/building’s installations
  • WHMIS Training
  • Minimum 5 years experience in minor manual work (painting, electricity, carpentry, plumbing)
