Cascadia Scientific is excited to welcome a Business Development Manager – Mining Technology (Australia) to our growing team. Our industrial IOT platform provides mining operations with high-accuracy fuel consumption measurement and actionable insights to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and support more sustainable mining practices. Headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, Cascadia supports mining customers across five continents, including some of the world's largest mining companies. With continued growth in the Australian resources sector, we are seeking an experienced mining technology sales leader to establish and expand our presence across Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing strategic relationships within the Australian mining industry, identifying new business opportunities, managing the sales lifecycle, and helping mining operations realize measurable value from Cascadia’s solutions. This role will play a key role in establishing Cascadia’s presence in the Australian market by developing the go-to-market strategy, building a strong customer pipeline, and driving sustainable revenue growth across the mining sector Primary Responsibilities Lead Cascadia’s sales growth initiatives across Australia with support from the Canadian team. This role will own the development of the Australian sales pipeline, revenue growth initiatives, and the full sales lifecycle, including: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Australian mining market. Develop and execute strategic outreach initiatives to engage with prospective clients and introduce them to Cascadia's solutions. Organize and coordinate meetings, presentations, and demonstrations either on-site or virtual. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that drive long-term partnerships. Build a strong network within the Australian mining and resources sector. Develop and maintain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across mining organizations, including operations leaders, asset managers, technology teams, and executive decision-makers. Collaborate with product, marketing, and customer success teams to align solutions with customer needs. Track and analyze sales performance metrics, providing regular reports and insights to senior management to inform strategic planning. Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities within mining technology. Represent Cascadia at mining conferences, industry events, and customer engagements.

Qualifications

Demonstrated expertise in New Business Development and Business Development within mining, industrial, or technology sectors. 7+ years of successful enterprise sales or business development experience, preferably selling technology solutions into the mining or resources sector. Strong Account Management skills, with the ability to nurture long-term client relationships and drive repeat business. Knowledge of mining operations and mining technology solutions, ideally within Western Australia or similar markets. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Comfort working with data-driven insights and translating technical information into clear business value propositions. Technical Selling: Prior experience selling complex technical solutions, including SaaS, IIoT, analytics, automation, or industrial technology platforms, is highly valued. SaaS Solutions: Experience selling Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions is considered an asset. Candidates with a track record of successfully selling SaaS products or services, particularly for the mining industry, will be at an advantage in this role. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.
