Azure Cloud and Network Administrator
About the role
As an Azure Cloud Administrator, you’ll play a vital role in overseeing, optimizing, and safeguarding our Azure-based infrastructure. With a strong focus on operational excellence, system performance, and cloud governance, you'll help maintain an environment that is secure, scalable, and aligned with the company’s evolving needs. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for configuring, supporting, and maintaining Azure environments while collaborating with various internal teams to drive innovation and efficiency. Reporting directly to the Director of Product Engineering, this role is ideal for a strategic and technical professional who thrives in dynamic, cloud-first environments.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Administer and enhance Azure services such as Virtual Machines, storage, databases, API gateways, networking components, and security configurations to ensure optimal system availability and reliability.
- Investigate and resolve infrastructure-related issues across cloud-based platforms.
- Monitor Azure expenditures, introduce cost-control strategies, and deliver regular budget and usage reports.
- Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and ARM templates to automate and streamline deployments.
- Stay ahead of trends and advancements in cloud technologies, offering recommendations to enhance infrastructure performance.
- Conduct security assessments and audits to confirm compliance with industry standards and internal policies.
- Utilize tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics to evaluate system health and diagnose performance bottlenecks.
- Carry out regular maintenance tasks and updates to ensure cloud resources remain secure, current, and scalable.
- Implement governance practices including tagging standards, Azure policies, and effective use of resource groups.
- Design and execute backup and disaster recovery solutions using Azure Backup and Site Recovery tools.
- Collaborate closely with development and customer-facing teams to maintain smooth, secure operations and comprehensive documentation.
- Support client-side integration initiatives and resolve issues collaboratively with their technical teams.
- Maintain internal IT infrastructure, covering areas such as firewall configuration, VPN, antivirus, phone systems, and internal network updates.
Who You Are:
- Holder of a diploma or degree in Information Technology; Azure certifications such as AZ-104 or AZ-305 are a strong plus.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience managing Microsoft Azure environments; familiarity with AWS (particularly S3) is an added advantage.
- Strong grasp of Azure's cost structures, budgeting tools, and forecasting techniques.
- Skilled in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python.
- Experienced with Azure Defender, Security Center, and role-based access control (RBAC).
- Well-versed in Azure networking (VNets, NSGs, firewalls, ExpressRoute).
- Knowledgeable in CI/CD practices and DevOps workflows.
- Able to analyze recurring cloud costs and make data-driven optimization decisions.
- Always seeking improvement, with the ability to streamline operations and boost efficiency.
- Clear communicator with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, able to manage priorities and make sound technical decisions.
