Solutions Designer - Senior (RQ10678) Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement | 222 Jarvis St., Toronto, Ontario (Onsite)
Contract: May 11, 2026 – March 31, 2027 (224 business days, probable extension)
About The Role We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Solutions Designer with deep AWS expertise to design and implement Amazon Connect cloud-based contact center solutions integrated with Lambda, API Gateway, Amazon Lex, Kinesis, S3, DynamoDB, and other core AWS services. Our ideal candidate excels at developing system design models, technical specifications, and implementation strategies while leveraging CI/CD pipelines, CloudFormation IaC, and AWS security best practices across complex, highly available mission-critical environments. They will design hosting technology solutions aligned with client specifications, OPS standards, and cost models while evaluating new technologies and vendor products.
This onsite leadership role requires 10+ years software development experience, 5+ years AWS/Amazon Connect contact center implementation, and proven ability to manage production AWS systems ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability through CloudWatch, CloudTrail monitoring, and robust VPC/IAM configurations.
What You'll Do
Design AWS-based contact center solutions with Amazon Connect and core AWS services across cloud infrastructure.
Must Haves
- AWS Cloud expertise: Lambda, AWS Connect, API Gateway, Amazon Lex, AWS CLI, Kinesis, S3, KMS, Glue, DynamoDB, RDS, Amplify.
- Amazon Connect: Design/development/implementation of cloud contact centers (Call/Queue Flows, Agent Experience, Call Recording, Metrics, Contact Lens, CTR analysis).
- Developing/maintaining system design models, technical documentation, specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design hosting solutions based on client specs, OPS standards, cost models.
- Create/manage AWS production systems; deploy automation packages.

Experience And Skill Set Requirements Technical Skills (55%)
- 10+ years software development/delivery across technical roles.

- Amazon Connect: Call/Queue Flows, Agent Experience, recording, metrics, Contact Lens, CTR analysis.
- AWS ecosystem: Pinpoint, Kinesis Data Streams, Polly, CloudFormation IaC, IAM security.
- DevOps: JIRA, Confluence, Maven, Jenkins, Git, Ansible/Chef/Puppet, Docker, Gitlab CI/CD.
- Scripting: Python, Bash, PHP, Java, JavaScript, Node.
- AWS Infrastructure: VPC, Firewall, ELB, auto-scaling, IAM, EC2, S3, API Gateway, Lambda, Aurora, Redshift.
Core Skills (25%)
- 10+ years system design models, technical documentation.
- IVR/Workflow knowledge.
- API integration, web/architectural/security standards.
