About the role
LabX Media Group is a B2B digital publisher with many leading brands in our industry. We create and deliver content and editorial to our audience of scientific professionals, and connect them with our advertising clients which promote their products and solutions.
The Associate Product Manager will focus on enhancing our portfolio of digital products of some of our key brands, including Lab Manager, Lab Manager Academy, and Lab Design. A science degree is valued, but not required. Leverage your digital business acumen to enhance total program and campaign "performance" across our advertising clients and the products we offer. There are many facets and ways we can improve performance, and this role will use effective collaboration to bring together cross-functional teams and any combination of editorial, marketing, sales, operations, IT, finance, and all departments to solve challenges and find better ways to increase performance. Being a problem solver is essential! The role is always evolving as we work to improve company-wide product cohesion, workflows and processes. One focus is enhancing website performance by aligning editorial and creative services content with site architecture and SEO to maximize impact. Another is refining and delivering innovative sales products that not only set us apart from competitors but also excite our clients with outstanding results that keep them coming back.
Responsibilities:

Understand the products that we sell, and find ways to optimize and improve delivery and performance.
-
Lead collaboration across editorial, sales, marketing, and operations to optimize workflows and processes, ensuring solutions deliver measurable business value.
-
Shape new initiatives and new products that will benefit internal teams, external readers, and advertising clients
-
Drive brand strategy by shaping and monitoring OKRs, analyzing key metrics, and ensuring data-driven alignment with business goals.
-
Understand our software tools (Hubspot, Jira, Netsuite, etc.) and learn how those interact with our teams, to be able to make recommendations for improvement.
-
Support project management teams and shape go-to-market plans for new, customer-focused offerings.
-
Embed data into every decision by defining key KPIs and leveraging Google Analytics for in-depth web analysis
-
Work with shared service teams including UX, analytics, project management, content and development, and other product owners to ensure the proposed solutions align with best practices.
-
Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis to determine the overall health of products and identify new opportunities for improvements, new ways of working, and new areas of development.
About You:
-
Proven leadership and decision-making skills to guide teams toward achieving business objectives
-
Significant experience in a relevant role, either directly as a product manager, agency client support, or working in a similar cross-functional capacity, ideally in a news, media, digital, data, technology business.
-
Technical product development experience with digital products or platforms.
-
Creative thinker who likes to make connections, find patterns and use their imagination to create the best possible customer experience.
-
Sharp analytical, qualitative, and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions
-
Strategic aptitude and business acumen; ability to define and articulate business opportunities
-
Must have maturity, poise, and communication skills suitable to interact directly and build trust with internal teams and external customers.
Desired Skills:
- Product management skills, e.g. direct experience in areas such as creating a compelling product vision, customer requirement analysis, roadmaps, user experience design, GTM planning, etc.

- Strength in strategy development and complex problem-solving
- Experience in working closely with technology development teams
