About the role
Position Overview
Under the general supervision of the Manager, Parking Services, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Parking Attendant is responsible for: assisting with the operations of the St. Boniface Hospital parking system, to include: patrolling lots daily; ensuring the cleanliness of lots and safety of customers; responding to calls for assistance by casual or contract parkers; visually inspecting automated parking equipment and performing regular routine maintenance and troubleshooting of same; notifying Manager or Parking Office of any safety concerns, maintenance required or equipment malfunctions that require further follow up; conducting lot counts and making suggestions for improvements; cashing out parking systems; printing credit card summary reports; providing assistance to parkers by directing traffic at peak times; redirecting casual parkers to available parking spots when lots are full; and performing other related duties as assigned.
Experience
- Experience working with the general public in a service-oriented capacity.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Grade XII or recognized equivalent.
Certification/Licensure/Registration

Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to work in a Windows operating environment.
- Use of hand tools.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand French would be an asset.
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work with initiative.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Good telephone manner.
- Mature, professional manner.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload.

Interviewed candidates may be called upon to participate in a skills assessment.
