About Us:
We are currently seeking and experienced Recreation Therapy Worker to join our team at Coquihalla Gillis House in Merritt, BC. As a valued member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in implementing our established Recreation Therapy Program, ensuring the well-being and enjoyment of our residents.
Work Schedule:
This is a permanent part-time (0.59FTE) position with rotating day and evening shifts, offering flexibility for a healthy work-life balance. Shifts are from 07:30 to 15:30 and 12:00 to 20:00. Plus, you'll enjoy the benefits of our comprehensive benefits package.
Your Role:
As a Recreation Therapy Worker, you’ll play a key role in enriching the quality of life for residents by delivering engaging and meaningful recreation therapy programs. Working closely with the interdisciplinary team, you’ll facilitate individual and group activities such as arts, music, crafts, sports, gardening, cultural events, and fitness, ensuring each program is adapted to meet residents’ physical, social, cognitive, emotional, and spiritual needs. You’ll also support residents in participating in community outings, assist with special events, and provide encouragement that fosters independence and social connection. Through your creativity and compassion, you’ll help create an inclusive environment where residents can thrive and feel a true sense of purpose and belonging.
