Casual On-Call Early Childhood Educator (ECE)
Wage: $22–$28 per hour
Hours: Hours vary depending on call-in needs
Queen Margaret’s School is inviting applications for a Casual On-Call Early Childhood Educator to support our Early Years Program (ages 3–5). This on-call position offers flexibility and the potential for part-time hours as opportunities arise. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, responsive, and dedicated to providing high-quality early learning experiences aligned with the values of QMS.
About the Program
At QMS, we believe that the early years of a child’s education are fundamental in shaping their future. Our Early Years Program provides a joyful, structured, and holistic environment where children explore, discover, and thrive. Learning experiences are designed to develop intellectual, emotional, social, and physical growth—establishing a foundation for lifelong curiosity and success.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Early Childhood Education Certificate from the BC ECE Registry
- Minimum two years of experience working with young children
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be able to:
- Support ECE staff on an on-call basis, with the possibility of future part-time hours
- Work collaboratively to plan, implement, and participate in offering a responsive, high-quality curriculum in a 3–5 year old program
- Foster respectful partnerships with children, families, and colleagues
- Model a strong understanding of current licensing regulations
- Adhere to the ECE Code of Ethics
- Work from the core principles of the BC Early Learning Framework
- Contribute to a positive work culture aligned with the values of QMS
