Position Summary
Under the direction of the Manager, Facilities, this position is responsible for general and specialized (e.g., electronic fireplaces, water features, etc.) maintenance and repairs to site property, including regular compliance inspections and preventative maintenance. Maintains site in a clean, hygienic manner ensuring environment is safe and hazard free. Upholds safety and security standards of the corporation including use of personal protective equipment as necessary. Assist in maintaining good public relations with patrons by ensuring customer service standards are achieved.
Key Accountabilities

Responsible for washroom repairs such as daily preventative maintenance of washroom fixtures; changing of hand soap/hand sanitizer; unclogging toilets and sinks using various tools and equipment; changing/replacing burnt out light bulbs; wall repairs and painting; some carpentry work; carpet and floor repairs; vacuum cleaner maintenance; preventative maintenance on stand-alone HVAC units; other related duties as assigned.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Comply with safety procedures including use of required safety equipment and identify unsafe practices or conditions.

Ensures any trip or fall hazards are identified, i.e. wet floors or stairs. Ensures hallways and access routes are free of debris and waste,

Is responsible to ensure that said duties are carried out in compliance of departmental or Internal Control Manual policies and procedures.

Required to operate the scissor lift and to perform high-to-reach areas of cleaning.

Promote and maintain the utmost integrity and the highest calibre of customer service and respect to all patrons, employees and casino personnel.

Occasionally, as directed by supervisor leads will be required to assist with the cleaning of sections on and off the gaming floor, which includes but is not limited to: cleaning of slot machines, cleaning of washrooms; replenishing supplies; removal of waste; cleaning of designated smoking areas; and dusting, vacuuming and mopping.

Must adhere to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, and other applicable laws and regulations.

Education and
Education and Qualifications
- A secondary school diploma or an equivalence or combination of work experience and education
- Experience in a related field of 1 or more years with formal training in one or more of the related trade professions would be an asset
- Strong organization, interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills
- Certification/license from one of the trade professions would be an asset
- The ability to obtain registration as a Category 2 Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends and shift work.
Work Environment Considerations
- Fast paced with multiple priorities, deadlines and deliverables; exposure to some conflict, distress and noise;
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time;
- This role requires a flexible schedule that adapts to the business needs of a 24 hour operation; will have non-traditional work hours including evening, overnight, and weekend shifts.
