About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a bilingual Assistant Controller/Controller to join their growing finance team. This individual will play a key role in financial reporting, month-end close, team leadership, process improvement, and maintaining strong internal controls across multiple entities.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, partnering with leadership, and helping drive continuous improvement within the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities. Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting schedules. Prepare and review financial statements, management reporting packages, and variance analyses. Support external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal controls. Assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures. Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and overall efficiencies within the finance function. Partner with cross-functional teams and senior leadership on financial and operational initiatives. Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as required. Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to members of the accounting team.
Qualifications
Fluency in both English and Spanish is required. CPA designation preferred. Experience in accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close. Prior leadership or supervisory experience. Strong understanding of internal controls and financial reporting. Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large data sets. Experience in a multi-entity and/or multi-currency environment is considered an asset. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
