Geotechnical Engineer / Geoscientist - Project Manager Location : Victoria, BC
Type : Full-time | Permanent
We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer or Geoscientist (Project Manager level) who is driven by technical excellence, mentorship, and collaborative project delivery. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects across British Columbia with the support of a highly experienced geotechnical team.
What You'll Do
- Manage and deliver geotechnical projects from proposal through completion
- Prepare geotechnical assessments, reports, and design recommendations
- Work on shallow and deep foundations, slope stability, earth retention systems, and ground improvement
- Collaborate with senior engineers and mentor junior staff
- Support field programs including site investigations, monitoring, and instrumentation
- Apply advanced analysis tools (e.g., PLAXIS, PDA, TIP)
Key Areas of Work
- Geotechnical assessments & reporting
- Foundation engineering (shallow & deep)
- Slope stability & earth retention systems
- Excavation support & anchored walls
- Earthquake engineering & micro-tremor surveys
- Soil instrumentation & monitoring
- Shoreline and coastal works
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or Geological Sciences
- Registered P.Eng. or P.Geo. with EGBC (or eligible in Canada)
- Minimum 4+ years of industry experience
- Valid BC driver's licence
- Strong communication and project coordination skills
