Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Project and Quality Manager to lead the development and oversight of project and quality management practices across our organization. This role plays a critical part in ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and effective delivery of engineering initiatives. The successful candidate will provide leadership in project execution, quality systems, budget oversight, and asset management, while supporting long-term strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop policies and procedures that meet regulatory requirements and best practices in project and quality management.
- Monitor and support project and quality management activities across the organization.
- Oversee all engineering budgets and provide financial oversight for projects.
- Lead program management of E1s, E2s, and Charter Offsets.
- Develop long-range maintenance plans to support operational reliability.
- Manage company contributions to asset capital projects.
- Lead and deliver special projects as assigned.
- Oversee engineering policy development and ongoing maintenance.
- Manage vessel charter obligations and warranty processes.
- Build and oversee a Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) program.
- Maintain the engineering SharePoint site and oversee vessel/terminal documentation management.
- Manage the use, implementation, and sustainment of the maintenance management system.
- Standardize and oversee major project contracts and terms & conditions.
Qualifications & Skills
- Engineering degree or equivalent experience in marine engineering and project management.
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience; professional project management certification considered an asset.
- Experience in the maritime industry in a project management role strongly preferred.
- Leadership experience with marine operations and Transport Canada (TC) certification considered an asset.
- Experience establishing or managing ISO certification considered an asset.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Independent, self-motivated, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related project management tools.
Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based role with routine visits to vessels, docks, and terminal facilities throughout the Maritimes.
- Requires significant road travel, with flexibility for occasional evening, weekend, and overnight work.
- Must be able to access all areas of vessels and terminals, including climbing ladders and entering tanks.
