Attractions Operator, Whirlpool Aero Car
Niagara Parks is currently recruiting for Attractions Operators to join our team for the 2025 season. This position compensates at a rate of $19.43/hr for Seasonal Bargaining Unit and Part-Time employees. Students will be compensated in accordance with Ontario Minimum Wage legislation.

Seasonal Bargaining Unit and Part Time Employees Specific:
- Additional $1.55/hr for each hour worked in lieu of benefits (seasonal bargaining unit only);

QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of high school or equivalent knowledge and experience in tourism/hospitality and amusement parks.
- Technical aptitude is considered an asset.
- Minimum two (2) years previous experience in customer service, amusement park operations, and/or related fields.
- Ability to work, independently.
- Outgoing personality, collaborative and engaging with guests and assist with crowd management.
- Ability to adapt to changing scenarios and work well under pressure.
- Availability for varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must have the ability to carry thirty (30) pound propane tanks with two hands safely downstairs, and the ability to carry (30) thirty-pound batteries with one hand down the stairs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for operating the Aero Car using the Aero Car Control Panel in accordance with vendor provided training and operational schedules including:
- daily test run of the Aero Car.
- In case of an emergency, the Attractions Operator must independently be able to bring the rescue car online.
- Responsible for the lowering of the car, checking the fuel level, the oil, and hydraulic fuel levels. Responsible for starting and engaging the auxiliary drive at Colt’s point and the Honda generator at Thompson’s Point.
- Deliver clear and engaging safety instructions and pre-ride briefings and ensure guests are safely situated.
- Conduct routine and standardized system inspections and/or tests to ensure operational readiness and minimize downtime and report any concerns to management.
- Maintain a detailed operator log documenting technical issues, observations, and actions taken.
- Work with management, staff and vendors to assist in troubleshooting and support when necessary.
- Offer operational guidance to Whirlpool Aero Car staff as needed.
- Handle ride malfunctions in accordance with operational procedures.
- Notifies, supports and provides information to management and emergency services in the event of an emergency, weather disruption or delay.
Performs Other Related Duties
- Perform additional related duties as assigned to support the attraction and overall guest experience.
- Provides quality customer service that meets NPC standards.
- Promotes a positive image of the Niagara Parks Commission.
- Provides guests with information regarding all Niagara Parks Attractions.
