About the role

The salary range for this position is CAD $40.38/Hr. - CAD $40.38/Hr.

As a Plumber at St. Paul's Hospital, you will work in collaboration with the rest of the Facilities Maintenance team, supporting with a range of maintenance duties, including installing, altering, repairing, and testing plumbing systems and equipment, according to local and provincial building codes and regulations.

Education

  • Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Plumber, Class B level Gas Fitter's License with an electrical endorsement recognized by the Province of B.C.
  • Valid Certificate of Competency as a Cross Connection Control Specialist issued by the American Water Works Association, British Columbia Section
  • Two (2) years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Your Day to Day

  • Review work requests and consult with Supervisor
  • Perform operational and safety risk assessment
  • Install and repair pipe and plumbing systems
  • Repair and/or replace items such as pipes, valves, and fixtures
  • Carry out plumbing preventative maintenance program
  • Ensure conformance to applicable codes and regulations
  • Inspect and test cross connection control devices
  • Use equipment like water columns and differential gauges
  • Complete related reports and records
  • Install, test, maintain, and repair natural gas lines.
