Intent of the process
The intent is to staff one term position for 2-year with the high possibility of extension. This process may be used for various tenures (including but not limited to term and indeterminate appointments, internal assignments, secondments, deployments, acting appointments, casual). It may also be used to staff positions with various security requirements, language requirements and conditions of employment.

Your application must clearly explain how you meet the following

Education:

  • Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

Note:

  1. Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience.

  2. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience.

  3. At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above.

Experience:

  • Significant* experience in designing and implementing data solutions using Microsoft Data Platform

  • Experience identifying, monitoring, researching and resolving complex** problems in an IT environment.

  • Experience providing support to IT activities/projects for multiple clients, prioritizing workload and meeting deadlines in a multi-tasking environment.

  • Significant* experience providing expert technical advice and recommendations related to the development of IT software solutions to management, clients or other stakeholders.

  • Significant is defined as a substantial amount of relevant work history, demonstrating a proven track record of skills and accomplishments in a specific field.

** Complex is defined as issues that are ambiguous, poorly defined, and require input, expertise, and analysis from multiple sectors, organizations, or disciplines.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of computer systems programming techniques, methods and practices.
  • Knowledge of various components of the Microsoft Data Platform such as Power BI, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and Microsoft Fabric.

Asset Qualifications

  • Experience working in Agile methodology to develop IM/IT solutions to meet business needs.
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPlatform Administration.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or equivalent DevOps platforms.
  • Experience with Spark Notebooks, Data Factory, or Delta Lake in Microsoft Fabric.
  • Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate or equivalent certification.
