Drive the modernization of Ontario's highway and bridge design ecosystem
In this Standards Management senior role, you will provide technical oversight to ensure design information is clear, consistent, and accurate throughout the design, construction, and contract development process. Your leadership will help maintain strong, reliable design application practices that keep pace with evolving engineering expectations.
Your work will advance a more integrated, data-driven approach to design application, strengthening collaboration, efficiency, and the overall quality of Ontario's infrastructure program.
About the job
In this role, you will:

coordinate the implementation of standards into construction contracts and lifecycle of data management
-
analyze design and construction documents and provide technical expertise
-
identify and analyze deficiencies in standards, design guidelines and contract documentation and recommend improvements
-
assist in development of policies, guidelines, and procedures for the introduction and use of automated technology that improves business processes for contract design, preparation and documentation, and products, tools, and materials management
Depending on the successful candidate, this position may work out of any of the following locations:
- 1355 John Counter Blvd, Kingston
- 447 McKeown Ave, North Bay
- 301 St. Paul St, St. Catharines
- 615 James Street S, Thunder Bay
- 159 Sir William Hearst Ave, Toronto

What you bring to the team
Transportation Engineering Skills and General Knowledge
You have:
- knowledge of civil engineering technology and experience related to highway engineering work.
- knowledge of and experience in transportation engineering, engineering materials, transportation facilities design, construction, and maintenance.
- the ability to obtain knowledge of ministry programs, policies, products and standards.
Analytical and Organizational Skills
You can:
- analyze technical problems and assess solutions to resolve problems.
- review/evaluate design and construction documents.
- coordinate the coverage and content of technical design references
- coordinate training and content for implementing highway contracts.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
You have:
- written communication skills to produce a variety of documents.
- oral communications, interpersonal and supervisory skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
