Position Status: Full time position.
Location: West Kelowna, BC
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hrs per week
Rate of Pay: $61, 464 per annum

About Us
Since 1980, Central Okanagan Emergency Shelter Society (COESS), operating as Kelowna Women’s Shelter (KWS), has strived to end abuse and build hope by providing a range of prevention, education, advocacy, programs and services for individuals and children impacted by Domestic Abuse.
The Opportunity
As a Child & Youth Case Manager, you’ll play a vital role in our Second Stage Housing program by supporting children and youth who have experienced domestic abuse. Using trauma-informed and child-centered approaches, you will create opportunities for healing, growth, and resilience.
Your Impact
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management:
- Conduct intakes, needs assessments, and develop individualized service plans.
- Provide one-on-one and group activities, including art and play therapy.
- Monitor progress and reassess needs, ensuring goals are realistic and achievable.
- Create safety plans and ensure smooth transitions for children and youth entering and exiting the program.
Advocacy & Support:
- Build trusting relationships with children, youth, and their families.
- Offer parenting sessions to foster family healing.
- Collaborate with community partners to connect families with necessary resources.
- Advocate for children and youth in accessing education, counseling, and community support.
Program Development:
- Develop and enhance child and youth programming.
- Maintain accurate documentation to inform program evaluation and improvement.
- Foster a collaborative network with local service providers.
What You Bring
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in child & youth care, social work, psychology, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge & Skills:
Expertise in case management, advocacy, and crisis intervention.
Strong understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on children and youth.
Proficiency in trauma-informed care and anti-oppressive frameworks.
Excellent organizational, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Requirements:
Valid BC driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for work use.
Regular travel to off-site locations.
Intermediate First Aid (formerly Standard First Aid Certificate and CPR Level B).
Clear Criminal Record Check and Driver’s Abstract.

The Central Okanagan Emergency Shelter Society (operating as Kelowna Women’s Shelter) has been a beacon of hope and safety since 1980, supporting individuals facing domestic abuse across the Central Okanagan, from Oyama to Peachland.
As a registered charity governed by a volunteer board of directors, we provide free, safe and confidential services, empowering individuals through sanctuary, advocacy and support.
Our comprehensive programs include short- and long-term housing, support groups, advocacy, preventative education programs and more. Our team of professionals are available through our 24/7 Help Lines to ensure immediate and ongoing care. We also connect clients to other people-serving organizations and community services for additional support.
Beyond our shelter, the Kelowna Women’s Shelter operates the KWS Thrift Store where funds raised go directly back into supporting our programs, and all vulnerable community members can access needed items free of charge through our voucher program. We are proud members of the British Columbia Society of Transition Houses, Ending Violence Association of British Columbia, Shelter Net BC, and Women’s Shelters Canada.
