THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for an experienced Controller to own the company’s financial reporting, accounting operations, and control environment. Reporting to the CFO, this is an in-person, hands-on role in a lean organization where you will be directly involved in day-to-day accounting, period-end close, compliance, and building the processes needed to support growth and potential public company readiness.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Prepare and review quarterly, and annual financial statements, working papers, and supporting schedules under IFRS. Own the quarter-end and year-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and account review. Manage day-to-day accounting activities including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, treasury, and project cost tracking. Prepare and file GST, corporate tax, and flow-through share compliance documentation, with support from external consultants as needed. Lead the annual budget and multi-year forecast process; provide variance analysis and financial commentary to the team. Build and maintain practical accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting processes appropriate for a lean and growing organization. Coordinate with external auditors, legal counsel, and regulatory bodies, as required. Support financing activities, capital allocation, and investor relations with timely, accurate analysis. Capable of building an accounting team as the Company moves towards development.

WHAT YOU BRING

CPA designation (required). 5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a financial reporting leadership role. Experience in mining, oil & gas, or natural resources; public company background strongly preferred. Strong working knowledge of IFRS.

Familiarity with public company reporting requirements (Canada & USA)

Proficiency with accounting ERP (Quickbooks) systems and advanced Office365 skills. Experience with complex accounting and tax issues in resource sector matters is a plus. Demonstrated willingness to work in the details and personally execute core accounting tasks in a lean environment.

WHAT WE OFFER
