Job Brief The Blaster will conduct surface production blasting operations while adhering to Dyno Nobel and regulatory standards.

What You’ll Do As a Blaster, you will be a part of a blast crew in quarry blasting operations throughout New Brunswick.This position involves but is not limited to the following tasks:
- Conduct blast site hazard assessments to ensure the blast site is a safe work environment for all involved.
- To provide supervision to all blast site assigned employees.
- Take part in all blast site activities (priming charges, loading bulk products, stemming, hookup and initiation of the blast)
- Assist in shot design/layout and all preplanning activities.
- Ensure that all equipment to be used in that operation is in good operating condition, including vehicles used for delivery of explosives products.
- Ensure that all regulations, both federally (TDG, Explosives Act, Bulk Regulations, WHIMIS) and provincially (Blasting Safety and OH&S Regulations) are adhered to by all personnel on your crew.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all products (explosive and non-explosive).
- Ensuring that company policies, safe work instructions, hazard analysis, and standard are up-to-date and followed by crew members.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum educational requirements: Grade school diploma, Trade related education or extensive experience in the related fields.
- Provincial Blasting License Class I or II (NS or NB) or able to acquire based on experience.
- Basic computer skills and an ability to communicate effectively in the terminology related to the field in the form of verbal and written reports.
- Good physical condition is required with the ability to repeatedly handle 25 kilogram units.
- Class 5 Drivers License. Class 3 with air brakes considered an asset.
