Photographer - Student Work Study job opportunities open to full-time Fanshawe College students who qualify for the Work Study Bursary program.
This opportunity is supported through The Work Study Employment Program, which is designed to provide work opportunities to Fanshawe College full-time post-secondary or post diploma students with a demonstrated financial need.
Eligible Students

Domestic Students at Fanshawe College must be a full-time registered student, and meet financial needs assessment criteria

International Students at Fanshawe College must be registered as a full-time student, and have a valid study permit and Social Insurance Number

Must be in good academic standing according to program requirements.

Successful candidates may be asked to apply to the Work Study Employment Program. The Work Study Employment Program will help Fanshawe Student Union financially to employ students over the summer, fall, and winter term.
Summer Contract - May 2026 - August 2026
Up to 35 hours per week
Photographer
The Photographer (Work Study) is responsible for capturing high-quality images that support the FSU’s promotional and communication efforts. This includes photographing campus events, student life, and other activities for use on FSU digital platforms. The role is ideal for a creative, detail-oriented student with a strong eye for visual storytelling and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
This is a part-time Work Study position open to full-time Fanshawe College students approved for the Work Study program.
Job Duties
- Capture high-quality photographs of campus events, student activities, and promotional content.
- Upload and organize photos to shared drives (e.g., Google Drive) within 24 hours of events.
- Collaborate with FSU staff to ensure visual content aligns with branding and communication goals.
- Attend and document at least one weekday and one evening event per week.
- Edit and prepare images for digital use as needed.
- Follow creative direction while also contributing original ideas.
- Assist with other media or communications-related tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be a full-time Fanshawe College student approved for the Work Study program.
- Ability to take news-quality, well-composed photographs.
- Comfortable working independently and following creative direction.
- Outgoing, task-oriented, and self-motivated.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
- Must be available for both weekday and evening events.
- Reliable attendance and consistent photo delivery.
- Experience with photo editing software is an asset.
