Job Title: Operations Coordinator – Electronics Recycling
Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time (Salary)
Department: Operations
Reports To: Operations Manager
Position Summary:
The Operations Coordinator is responsible for scheduling and coordinating production activities within electronics recycling environment. This role ensures production plans align with available inventory and incoming materials, maintains accurate production and labor reporting, manages purchasing for production and maintenance needs, and supports cost-reduction initiatives in collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Review inventory levels and in-transit deliveries; update daily production plans for disassembly work areas and automated shred line per shift
- Coordinate with supervisors and management to ensure adherence to production plans based on available resources
- Prepare, update, and coordinate production and labor reports; verify accuracy against received materials and payroll spend, and follow up with supervisors on corrective actions
- Monitor and maintain accurate entries in established business systems, update key production data regularly
- File, review, and ensure accurate completion of production reports and inspection sheets; follow up on any discrepancies
- Manage purchasing of non-production supplies (safety equipment, tools, accessories, maintenance, and shipping materials) and maintain appropriate inventory levels
- Track expenses, generate purchase orders, verify invoice accuracy, and obtain required approvals
- Coordinate with maintenance contractors and service providers as required
- Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives related to material flow, line balancing, and cost-reduction opportunities
- Support cost reporting and supplier cost-savings initiatives
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in production coordination, manufacturing scheduling, or materials planning
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Effective communicator with internal teams and external suppliers
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment when making recommendations
