####Mechanic Heavy Duty
Battlefield Equipment Rentals (a division of Toromont Industries Ltd.), one of Canada’s premiere Construction Rental Companies, has an immediate requirement for a full-timeHeavy Duty Mechanicat ourAntigonishlocation. Our busy, team-oriented shops place a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction. The service department is an important area of our business, ensuring that our equipment is ready and available, as well as maintaining a flow of information on that equipment for both the rental staff and the sales staff.
Wage:$23.00 - $30.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean and organized work station;
- Troubleshoot and estimate costs of repairs;
- Verify and inspect rental equipment to ensure proper functioning and to detect faults and avoid malfunctions;
- Adjust equipment and repairs or replace defective parts, components or systems using hand and power tools;
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure manufacturers' specifications compliance;
- Clean, lubricate and perform routine maintenance work on equipment;
- Service attachments and working tools;
- Order parts as needed;
- Complete different service reports.
Key Qualifications:
- An experienced technician, or 2nd/3rd year apprentice with the ability to diagnose, perform failure analysis, and repair of Large booms, Scissors, and Telehandlers;
- Existing knowledge of Aerial and Material Handling Electrical and Hydraulic and Powertrain systems;
- Hands on experience in the repair and service/maintenance requirements for various types of booms, scissors and telehandler type equipment;
- Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with company and factory standards;
- Ability to work independently, and in a team atmosphere;
- Good communication and people skills;
- Strong time management and organizational skills;
- Operate and maintain all shop equipment and ensure a safe, clean & organized shop area;
- All other duties as assigned by the Shop Foreman and Service Manager;
- Flexible work schedule available;
- All other duties as assigned by the Branch & Service Managers.
Additional Qualifications and Skills:
- Applicant must be able to perform heavy lifting; as heavy lifting will be required frequently;
- The ideal candidate will have previous experience with Genie, Cat, JLG, MEC, Snorkel and Skyjack Equipment;
- Apprentices are encouraged to apply;
- Your own tools are required.
